3-2-1-All systems go for the 90th edition of the Round the Island Race

The Haven Knox-Johnston crew are limbering up once again as the official insurance partner for the 2021 Round the Island Race. This year’s race will be held on Saturday 3rd July and celebrates its 90th anniversary and in addition, we are heading into our 20th consecutive year of supporting this great event with the Island Sailing Club.

Our two sponsored yachts, “Haven K-J Enigma” and “Haven K-J Scotch Mist”, are already preparing their crew and race tactics in readiness for this prestigious occasion.

With so many high-profile events being cancelled, the Round the Island is being tipped as one of the biggest events to be staged since the UK’s first lockdown a year ago.

Free racing cover for HK-J policyholders

In line with 19 years of tradition, our private, pleasure craft policyholders taking part in this spectacular race will have their boat insurance policy given a boost to include racing cover for the day at no extra cost.  Obviously we hope you won’t need it, but it does ensure peace of mind in the chaos of the start line!

We’re really excited to be getting back out on the water and celebrating one of our favourite days in the sailing calendar, especially in the knowledge that our customers taking part are well protected. But even more, we’re really looking forward to seeing a whole raft of new class fleets out on the Solent competing for the Windeler Cup, as well as the new rowing and kite surfing races – what can’t you wait to see?
